Shelter Institute offers a breadth of knowledge in tools, courses, design build, and real estate to engaged customers in an energetic way, helping them feel confident, competent, and giving them solutions for better thinking, building, and living.

In 2024, we worked with Shelter Institute to complete a total brand refresh. Since 1974, Shelter has been a fixture in the timber framing business. Over the years they have expanded their offerings and wanted a brand identity to support their deep history and expansive knowledge. As the lead designer on the project, I worked alongside the Art Director and Creative Director to complete a round of moodboards for direction, three rounds of logos, two rounds of colors, and finally two rounds of typography, pattern, and iconography. We landed on a classic logo system featuring a monogram logo mark that worked with every division, featuring their founding date and location. I built out a large selection of logo variations to suit all their needs from trailer decals and class rags to letterheads and carhartt vests. Alongside their in-person and online course offerings, they also have a fantastic youtube channel boasting 130k subscribers - where they share their builds, client interviews, and bloopers. Their Maine campus is growing, and we built a brand identity that could expand alongside it - with a new division to be added in 2026. Using the extensive brand guide I created (43 pages!), we have continued creating top tier image based emails, digital ads, and website updates.
